VALD Technology

Technology does not replace coaching judgement. It gives that judgement better evidence.

VALD systems help Forge collect repeatable data across neuromuscular performance, isometric strength, hamstring capacity, sprint timing and movement. The equipment is selected for the question being asked, not used as theatre.

Results can be reviewed against the athlete’s own history and, where appropriate, contextualised through VALD reporting and normative reference data. Forge then connects the numbers to training, monitoring and communication with the athlete’s wider support team.

Inside the Forge performance lab

The right tool for the question.

Forge may use these systems individually or as part of a broader testing battery.
FD

ForceDecks

Jump, force, power, balance and asymmetry

Used for tests such as countermovement jumps, drop jumps, isometric pulls and balance tasks to understand how an athlete produces and absorbs force.

FF

ForceFrame

Repeatable isometric strength across major joints

Supports targeted assessment of areas including the hip, knee, ankle, shoulder and neck, with consistent positions for comparison over time.

NB

NordBord

Eccentric and isometric hamstring strength

Helps quantify hamstring capacity and side-to-side differences for performance monitoring, targeted training and return-to-performance conversations.

SS

SmartSpeed

Sprint, split and change-of-direction time

Wireless timing gates provide objective acceleration, maximum-speed and agility results in field-based testing environments.

HT

HumanTrak

Movement, range of motion and jump mechanics

Camera-based movement analysis can help examine multi-joint movement, compensation strategies and selected jump or functional tasks.

DM

DynaMo

Portable strength and range-of-motion assessment

A modular handheld system for targeted strength and movement testing when flexible positions or field portability are important.

VH

VALD Hub

Centralised profiles, results and reporting

Brings compatible testing results together so trends, comparisons and reports can support a clearer athlete-development conversation.

How Forge works

Measure. Coach. Progress.

01

Select the right system

We begin with the performance question, then choose the equipment and protocol capable of answering it.

02

Standardise the test

Consistent setup, athlete familiarisation and repeatable protocols make future comparisons more useful.

03

Interpret in context

The result is considered alongside sport demands, training load, history and coach observation before action is recommended.

What this service is built to deliver

Useful outcomes, not empty activity.

  • More objective performance baselines
  • Consistent re-testing across training blocks
  • Clearer visibility of asymmetries and force qualities
  • Data athletes and coaches can discuss
  • Better-informed programming and progression decisions
What to expect

Technology available within the Forge testing ecosystem

Not every athlete needs every system. Forge chooses the smallest useful battery for the athlete and the decision in front of them.

  1. 01Individual athlete profile and test selection
  2. 02Consistent technology-led data capture
  3. 03Immediate quality check and result review
  4. 04Longitudinal comparison when prior data exists
  5. 05Forge report and applied recommendations

Not sure which service is right for you?
